'The business of the poet and novelist is to show the sorriness underlying the grandest things, and the grandeur underlying the sorriest things.'

As the e-reader's are becoming more prevalent, there are more and more books being published. Any rube can self publish these days. As a voracious reader and wanna be writer, I love it. The downside, of course, is that quality can suffer. Lately, I'm reading books that have great potential for story, but I find myself constantly distracted by serious grammar no-no's, misspellings and just general sloppiness. Even at 0.99, it's irritating. It made me think how great it would be to have a place to go where I could look at reviews of many books, not just many reviews of the same book (which are also helpful). Yes, I know there are places on the web like what I'm describing, but this site offers something that the others don't. I'm writing the reviews. I trust me more than I trust anyone else's opinion. So there. I welcome all comments, and I love the grammar police! We all make mistakes, and if part of my reviews are about grammar and spelling mistakes, it's only right to hold me to that high standard as well. Besides, high school English class was long, long ago.
